Core Faculty Positions
Multiple searches are now active to recruit core faculty in computer science (CS) as well as in artificial intelligence and decision making (AI+D). Faculty in these positions will be appointed in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), which jointly reports to the Schwarzman College of Computing (SCC) and the School of Engineering (SoE).
Interested candidates must register on the faculty search website (select the option for 'College of Computing + School of Engineering Joint Searches') and submit all application materials there by December 1, 2020. Candidate applications should include a description of professional interests and goals in teaching and research. In addition, candidates should provide a statement regarding their views on diversity, inclusion and belonging, including past and current contributions as well as their vision and plans in these areas. Shared Faculty Positions
During the 2020–2021 academic year, there will be five searches for faculty positions shared between the college and an academic department. These searches will be conducted around six strategic areas of inquiry and the positions will have a shared appointment in both the academic department and in the college, in either EECS or in the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS).
One search will occur with each of the five schools at MIT, in three of the strategic areas. Interested candidates should follow the application instructions outlined in each job listing. Links to active job postings will be added on a rolling basis.
Social, Economic, and Ethical Implications of Computing and Networks will undertake two searches, one with the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, and one with the MIT Sloan School of Management.
