The Schwarzman College of Computing is increasing MIT’s academic capacity in computing and AI with 50 new faculty positions — 25 located within the college and 25 shared with other academic departments.

Core faculty positions

Multiple searches to recruit core faculty are ongoing. We welcome outstanding applicants with research and teaching interests in any area of computer science and artificial intelligence and decision-making. Faculty in these positions will be appointed in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), which jointly reports to the Schwarzman College of Computing and the School of Engineering.

Shared faculty positions

Searches for shared faculty are conducted around six strategic areas of inquiry. These positions will have a shared appointment in both an academic department and in the college, in either EECS or in the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society.

Searches will occur with each of the five schools at MIT, in the following strategic areas. Links to active job postings will be added on a rolling basis.
