2026-2027 SCC PhD Fellowships

MIT Schwarzman College of Computing (SCC) is seeking nominations of continuing PhD students for 2026-2027 Schwarzman College of Computing PhD Fellowships. 

The SCC PhD Fellowships provide outstanding doctoral students with a nine-month fellowship for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 terms for students in doctoral programs in the College. Fellowships will support innovative work in computing, and some are designated for work in AI and its applications.

Awardees will receive standard tuition, health insurance, and stipend for a 9-month, non-renewable period for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.

Submit nominations

Eligibility

  • PhD graduate students from the four academic units in SCC: Center for Computational Science and Engineering (CCSE), Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), Institute for Data, Systems and Society (IDSS), and Operations Research Center (ORC)
  • Graduate students in the second year or later of the graduate program and have significant published research relevant to their proposed work
  • Expected PhD completion date no sooner than May 2027

Materials

Nominations must be submitted by an MIT department head or director. Each nomination should include:

  • A research statement (one-page maximum)
  • CV (two-page maximum)
  • One letter of recommendation from the nominee’s research advisor
